Discover Learn And Play Preschool Child Care

My name is Deanna Barnes, and I’m the owner, director, and lead teacher here at Learn and Play Preschool. I first opened our doors in August of 1991, and I’ve been joyfully teaching and nurturing preschoolers ever since—over 30 wonderful years!

I have an extensive background in child development and psychology, but most importantly, I bring decades of hands-on experience working with young children. Teaching is truly my passion, and I feel incredibly fortunate to spend my days helping little ones grow, explore, and build confidence.

The preschool years are such an important and exciting time in a child’s life. At Learn and Play Preschool, we focus on fostering growth across all areas—academic, social, emotional, and physical—so that each child is well-prepared for kindergarten with independence, knowledge, and self-assurance. Our classroom is a joyful, nurturing space where friendships form, curiosity is encouraged, and every child is valued.

Outside the classroom, I’m a proud mom to three amazing kids. My daughter is currently pursuing her MBA, and I also have two younger sons both completing their undergraduate studies. In my free time, I enjoy reading, dancing, racquet sports, hiking, exploring nutrition and wellness, and working on projects around my home.
